Keith Haddock lists four Nelson loaders 150 from 1957 thru 200, 250 and 400 in 1967, (Googlebooks) but the company's been around much longer with cranes.
Google Nelson loaders, Nelson cranes, and the N P Nelson Iron Works and a batch of hits should come up.

I was able to take another look at the loader and found out a lot . First it is a 200D witch makes it a 2.25 cu yrd loader. The motor is the original jn130 cummins . It has a allison 3 speed shuttle trans and rockwell axles. For a manufacture i had never herd of i was glad that it is built of name brand components. The tires are 17.5-25 and have about 1/4 tread. the steering system has ben completely replaced some time in the past. the owner said he ran it very little but every thing worked except the brakes. the last time it ran was when it was parked about 4 years ago. I am hoping to try and get it running monday. then the next thing is getting it home! I was wondering if any one would have a guess on the weight . I did find online were someone was looking for shipping quotes and estimated one at 18,000. I would also like to know what fluid the trans takes. I was told that the 130 on the engine model might mean that it is 130 hp ? Jugging by the serial # on the engine and trans I think it is a 1967. And according to The Earth Movers Encyclopedia That was the year they produced their last new model the 400. I am going to try and add some pics. Any info about the machine , the engine or trans would be appreciated thanks

I have a nelson loader and have no clue where to find any information on it! I know it is a good running and strong machine but it has no brakes and i wanna rebuild the engine! I think its a cummins only because it has a cummins fuel pump on it but who knows if its original! Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 1967 200D Nelson loader, here in Holton Michigan. My dad bought it from Chase farm equipment around walkerville probably in 72-76. It has a Cummins JN-130, w/allison trans. It was operated around the Holton area for several years, until the operator passed away, since it has just been used around the farm. I hear there is another not too far from me, I am looking so I may have spare parts. where are these pics taken? Somewhere around here I have the manuals for it also. trying to find parts is getting to be a real pain.

Thanks
Ken

I worked for np nelson in the late 60's as parts mgr in butler nj most axles are rockwell standard , hydrolics are heyco , all they were building then was snow loading equipment and side dump buckets . nelson loaders were top of the line of articulated loaders back then and i shipped parts all over the world

my loader is not articulated. But I thing you are right on the high quality. It is build very stout an with name brand components. Other than the slow steering mine works great. some one was modified the pump and I think it is running to slow. I am trying to get in contact with broncoo419 I would like to look at his manuals.
