The machine needs a clutch. I assume the machine was built in the last forties or early fifthies. It is powered by an International gas engine. The engine appears to be basically a stationary engine/clutch with a belts from the clutch output pulley running down to the trans/rear end. The engine has 'UHM12189' stamped on the block just below the cyl head and a plate with 'Model TU-4' stamped. I've searched the Internet quite a bit for any reference to this machine but haven't found anything - they must heave been a low-production unit. Would appreciate help in identifying the engine and would like to know if anyone knows of another Galion 402 or any other info.

Just noticed your post...engine parts catalogs shows that engine as an IH IU4 (could be sloppily stamped, or could be a special designation for the configuration of the installation in the Galion??) and as an IH U4...
Bearing catalog says the IU4 power unit uses IH C152 tractor engine...
My few clutch catalogs do have some Galion listings, but 402 not listed...
I would guess an IH dealer would be able to definitely ID the engine and the clutch used; if NLA or otherwise unacceptable from dealer aftermarket parts should be available (??)...
An outfit at associatedpowertrain.com says they specialize in off-road drive trains, have Galion on their list, and states new, used, aftermarket...have no personal experience with them, just noted them from other posts. HTH Good luck.
