Our museum is aquiring a NORTHWEST MODEL 6 shovel, we should have it by Spring. It runs! Does anyone know where I could find a manual/parts book, etc.? This machine has the original Murphy power, and dates to the mid 50's. Any comments on this machine?

Best place that I have found for items such as manuals etc. has been on e-bay. Northwest books are usually found in "Business and Industrial" sections, just type in Northwest Crane or Cranes and the listings will show some hits.
I believe that the parts and service manuals are together in the Northwest manuals.
One other item to look at is that each (or at least it seems to me) parts book is specific to a specific serial number, as sheet metal, options and attachments that the unit was originally manufactured with or sold from the factory with show up in individual manuals, this could be problematic.
Anyway good hunting.
