As a young person in the 950's my town had a loader, prior to shovel fronts, that was mounted on a large Cletrac dozer. It mounted on the tractor where the dozer push arms would be. The arms were long and came together at the bucket which consisted of digging teeth on the one side and the dump on the other. The bucket was backed into the gravel bank then raised up over the tractor with the tractor's winch and then dumped into a truck as it came to the front of the tractor. Included in this apparatus was a full length roof over the tractor as the rocks would rain down on the tractor as the bucket came over the top. It was an awesome thing to watch in operation as a kid. I would love a picture of what I describe if anyone has one. Thanks, Roadrunner
