It was recently reported that spam has decreased worldwide and now represents only 97% of all email, down from last year's high of 97.3%. No wonder then that we find these obnoxious peddlers of the 'net here on our forums as well! The sad truth is that spammers manage to generate billions in revenue internationally, much like their telemarketer brethren. And even with advances in anti-spamming technologies they still manage to get through, mostly because they now run vast "spam-centers" with people working 3 and 4 shifts to go through all the various steps to register and then spam forums such as ours.

So when you see a spam post here on these forums we ask that you do one thing, and one thing only, so that we can delete the offending post and permanently ban the spammer. When viewing a post you will see some icons in the upper right corner of the post. One of the icons looks like this: http://forum.hcea.net/forums/images/buttons/report.gif This is the "Report Bad Post" button and you should click it when you spot a spammer's post. This will alert us to the exact post in question so we can better deal with it and add the spammer's info to the anti-spam services. Please do not post in the spammer's thread, email or PM an administrator or moderator. Just click the http://forum.hcea.net/forums/images/buttons/report.gif button. We'll take care of the rest! :D

Thank you,

Joe Black

Also, please, in addition to reporting the offending thread or post DO NOT POST ANY RESPONSES. Just report the thread and leave it be, we'll take care of the rest. THANK YOU!!! :)
