I have a 1947 International t6 with an original bucyrus erie angle blade. I recently aquired it for the blade to put on my td 6. Long story short my td 6 is a wide track wide guage and the t6 is not so the blade will not fit. I am a high school student that has a small grading business on the side and I wanted an antique dozer to restore and use for side jobs. The t6 has a bad engine and clutches. Would it be better to scrap the tractor and save the blade and try to find another machine? or more cost effective to repair the t6?

The width of the t6 is around 66 inches. The width of my current td6 is just shy of 87 inches. I think its a little to much to cut and modify. I can make the lift arms work by fabricating a few spacers to clear the grousers. But the subframe and blade are way to narrow to fit around the tractor. I have quite a bit of experience with equipment but these internationals I am still learning about. My other option is to buy another standard gauge td6 and put the balde setup I have on it.

Eric,

Can you swap the side frames complete from the T-6 to the TD-6, everything should bolt up.

A friend of mine is a I-H man, one of the best mechanics I know, he changed the steering clutches and brakes on his TD-9 loader and said it was very unpleasent job, no room to work.

His comment was "the %$#@*^% clown that designed this should get a rash, and then a pimple where the rash is".

Yes that is no problem, the frames bolt up just fine. but the actual blade does not fit. it is not wide enough and the arms would have to be extended quitea bit to accomodate it. I know they are an absolute pain in the rear. I have done them on a cletrac b4 and also a cat 15. the cat 15 is a terrible design. But I learned a lot. The clutches werent such a big concern but the engine has compression in only 2 cylinders. I unfortuantely do not have the time to deal with that to because of the fact that I am working on a 1929 ford AA flatbed truck. I bought the machine for the blade. Then it didnt fit so I was going to try and get the t6 going. that failed so I think i might try to find a running or close to running machine.
