Has anyone ever taken advantage of the advertisement in the back of the magazine to subscribe to the British publication CLASSIC PLANT & MACHINERY? I've seen a few copies of this magazine and I'm wondering if anyone has done it. The ad running in the last issue was out of date though.

A number of our members that I know have subscribed. The publication is good but pricey; however, it comes out 12 times a year. They cover mostly european machinery but do have stories about North America. Keith Haddock writes a lot for them and this would be another reason to subscribe. Hope this helps.

I ordered several back issues last year. It's a pity we don't have a similar magazine in the U.S.

For a while Barnes & Noble was carrying a selection of British magazines, including Classic Plant, and I was in heaven, but then the audience wasn't strong enough to justify them, and they stopped them.

In PA and NY our Tractor Supply Company stores carry it and other magazines like Old Glory and more. My legs fall asleep every time I visit their library... My Lorain 75B is pictured in one of them! Darn, I should get a subscription too...

Thanks Martyn,
I would love to get more details. The exchange rate between the pound sterling and the dollar is wild, but I'm enough of an equipment fanatic to give it a shot. As I mentioned, the coupon printed in the HCEA magazine is a couple of years old, and I wasn't sure if it would be valid anymore.
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Sorry I'm late getting back to you, but yes, Tractor Supply is great. They carry Old Glory, Classic Plant & Machinery, Vintage Truck, and many other titles. I visit the store in Chester, New York once a month, and they haven't let me down yet. Wish they had one a closer closer to my home but beggars can't be choosers.

I like this publication too. My question what is the exact translation of the British term "Plant" is it something like "Heavy equipment? usually there are really well done multi-issue articles on a particular brand I of equipment but the makes a not familiar to America. I concur that I wish that there was a similar pub in the US on a monthly basis. I also get my issues at Tractor Supply but they probably would be cheaper if I had a subscription.
