Does anyone have any information on a Bucyrus Erie 18-B? I don't think there were many of these made. How long were they made? Were they made before the 15-B? Has anyone seen one? Are there any left? Thanks, Dave :?:

The early (steam) version of the 18B was made between 1914 & 1920. 171 of these twin stick rack & pinion machines were produced, at 50,000# each.

The later version of the 18-B was made between 1938 & 1942. 35 or these rectangular handle/rope crowd machines were produced, at 32,000# each. Don't know of any preserved anywhere in the world.

4,099 of the model 15-B were produced between 1940 & 1968.

Thanks again Dave L. for the information. Yes we do have the machine. It is not restored but is in very usable condition. It actually runs fairly nice. Do you know how many 19-B's, 20-B's, and 22-B's were made? What do you think were the major differences between the 18-B and 19-B? Thanks, Dave

120 19-B's produced.
413 of the twin stick rack & pinion crowd, steam powered 20-B's produced between 1922 & 1929.
582 of the rectangular handle rope crowd 20-B's produced between 1938 & 1943.
8,826 22-B's between 1938 & 1943.
Haven't been able to access the differences between the 18-B & 19-B.

Regards, Dave

Dave,
I see you are still buying Bucyrus Erie's off Ebay! How much iron is in your collection? Maybe this summer i can come down and photograph them. I remember Dayton is near Punxy (to the SW). I hadn't emailed you in 3 years. Did you know there's an abandoned Koehring 1005 drag near Pottersdale??? rich bachmann, syracuse,NY
