I just picked up a Scoopmobile Model H. I see after searching on the internet, I haven't found much info on them. Can the HCEA members fill me in on some of the Scoopmobile history? I have posted several photos on the Member Gallery. Thanks, Doug

I scanned a 1952 Advertisment for a Model H. If you give me your email, I will try to send it.

If you're still looking for Scoopmobile history, they were developed and built by Wagner Bros in Portland, OR, builders of loggging and lumber handling equipment. There's a brief thumbnail on alliedsystems.com (pdf file) and more on vanattabros.com history pages, and no doubt a complete history somewhere under Wagner Brothers, Wagner scoopmobile, FWD Wagner or Wagner Mining Scoop. Good luck.

Thanks for the replys. I have searched the internet and have viewed the sites you have mentioned. I did learn via the net that Wagner was bought by Atlas Copco, I will be contacting them to see if they obtained any historical info from Wagner.

The Scoopmobiles were originally developed by the Wagner brothers as allied equipment to their Mixermobile self-contained truck-mounted concrete mixers and placers. The loaders, mixers and related concrete handling equipment were manufactured under the Mixermobile Manufacturers name, as were such oddities as their truck crane, bidirectional motor scraper and Duo-Way Scoop bidirectional wheel loader/dozer.
The Wagner forklifts that clueless mentioned came from a separate company or division of the Wagner organization. The Wagners also built wheel tractors under the Wagner Tractor, Inc. name, and those lines were sold to FWD as their FWD Wagner line. The loaders were sold to Wabco in 1968.
The only surviving Wagner enterprise was their very successful Wagner Mining & Construction Equipment Company, which built tunneling and underground mining machinery. Thatâ??s what Atlas Copco bought. Atlas-Copco closed the plant a couple of years ago and shipped everything home to Sweden. I hope I'm wrong, but the Wagner archives are believed to be lost. :(
Weâ??ve had two major articles in our magazine, Equipment Echoes, on the Wagner product lines. The first, on the loaders, is out of print but can be photocopied. The second covered the other products, and is in Issue 63, which is still available through out Product Catalog. Click the link to the Catalog on the main menu for ordering information.

The H is on the way to my place! I ended up with a broken ankle after a young lady decided to meet me head on and have been on the mend. My brother is hauling the H to my place for me and hauling home some tractors that have been gathered up for my nephew. I'll get some photos and post them.

I have added some photos to the gallery. The old beast seems to work pretty well. Of course there are things that need attention, I'll get to them as I can. I did get to get in and drive it around. It is tight to get in and out of even without a cast on your foot. Enjoy the photos.

At the railway museum we have an old Scoopmobile, no idea what it is model wise, but I can have a look, possibly this weekend. I think the power is an Inline 4 Jimmy...
